Europe’s political landscape is currently caught in a process of polarisation between French President, Emmanuel Macron, and Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban. The polarisation is going so deep that it recently even threatened to tear the German conservative sister parties CDU and CSU apart. Austria has been caught in the middle of this development and Austria’s young Prime Minister, Sebastian Kurz, has proven to be a skillful negotiator between the two fronts, placing Vienna into the centre of European affairs.
Since Sebastian Kurz’s nomination to Foreign Minister five years ago, we, at EU40, have been supportive of an exemplary career for our network of young Members of Parliament. We are therefore delighted that we have been invited by the Young Federation of Austrian Industries to bring our Young Members of Parliament Forum to Vienna and meet with Sebastian Kurz there on November 23. The whole Forum will be taking place during the Austrian Council Presidency, on the 22nd and 23rd of November in Vienna.
This will be an excellent opportunity to debate the above-mentioned tectonic shifts in the political landscape of Europe, next to very practical obstacles for business and young entrepreneurs in Europe.
Please note that all Members of Parliament will cover their own travel expenses. There are no limits related to the number of participants per country.
Looking forward to welcoming you on this extraordinary occasion!
