Polish MEP Konrad Szymański has been nominated for taking an active role in the definition of our future climate and energy policy, in particular as co-rapporteur on parliament’s own-initiative report on the 2030 framework for climate and energy policies. The report draws attention to the need for more energy security, the role of the energy sector in regards to competitiveness, high energy prices in the EU and the need for a fair distribution of the burdens of climate policy. The ECR deputy has supported a balanced and realistic approach, as well as cost-effective policies, while also paying attention to the competitiveness objective and the need to protect industry from carbon leakage. Szymański has been vocal on Europe’s energy policy during his time in parliament
Konrad is nominated for the MEP Awards 2014 in “Energy” as well as his EU40 colleague Anne Delvaux.
