  • Regional Chairman, Bavarian Youth Section, CSU (2003-2007). Member of CSU Bureau. CSU District Chair, Lower Bavaria (since 2008). Member of the CSU Bureau and Executive (since 2008). Chairman of the CSU Committee on the Future of Bavaria (since 2009).
  • Member of Kelheim District Council (since May 2002). Member, Bavarian Regional Assembly (2002-2004).
  • Member of the European Parliament (since 2004). Member of the Committees on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (full member since 2004; substitute member since 2012), Regional Development (substitute member since 2004) and Constitutional Affairs (full member since 2012).
