EU40 Board Member Katarina Nevedalova, MEP, interacted with students in Europe via chat on the 24th of April 2013. The aim was to engage with students and discuss topics related to education, providing them with useful information on the job market and advising them to stronger engage in technical fields, instead of following the classical path of humanistic studies.
The chat is was organized in collaboration with PlasticsEurope and reached around 200 students. The initiative was promoted via the network of the European Schoolnet (EUN) and a database of several thousand teachers. This was translated into a feedback from more than 20 schools from all over Europe, from which approx. 12 schools were chosen to participate in order to ensure a pool of bright students and high-quality questions.
