Politics Online: A Young Person’s Game? (For MEPs)
Wednesday 20 November at 12.30 PM
YouTube Pop Up Space Brussels – Rue de la Loi, 91 (1000) Brussels, Belgium
Young people are the future, but they often don’t engage with traditional politics. Across Europe, there’s an ongoing debate about turnout, voting ages and political activism. The European elections showed that young people do care and want to be part of the conversation and that it can happen online.
As part of YouTube’s Pop Up Space Brussels programme, EU40, the network of MEPs under 40 and YouTube invite you to meet politically engaged YouTube creators for a discussion about young people, democratic debate and politics.
Four Content Creators/Youtubers have already accepted the invite:
– Simone Giertz (Sweden) – 2 Million Followers
– Hugo Decrypte (France) – 500.000 Followers
– Visual Politik (Spain) – 1.4 Million Followers
– Sally Welt (Germany) – 1.6 Million Followers
– Lufy et Enzo (Belgium) – 1.28 Million Followers
What motivates young people? How do YouTube creators speak to them in their own language? And how can they be encouraged to vote and participate in political discussions?
Join us for an intimate, informal and frank constructive lunch and exchange of views.
