In occasion of the launch of a new pharmacist tool, EU40 organised a mHealth debate titled “Chances of mHealth in a digitalised Europe”, on June 30th, from 2.00 – 4.00 pm, room A5G305, at the European Parliament.
MEP Victor Negrescu (S&D, RO) hosted the debate and analysed the opportunities and pitfalls of the digital pharmacy with DocMorris’ Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Max Müller, International Diabetes Federation’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Petra Wilson and Policy officer, Unit H1 – Health and wellbeing, DG CONNECT, Terje Peetso.
The debate has provided the audience with powerful insights with respect to the transition from a pure pharmaceutical distributor to a digital healthcare consultant and personal wealth thanks to big data.
Moreover, the discussion has analysed the digital product “Live Advisor” (life consultant) – ideal for patients with asthma who would like to learn breathing exercises, diabetics who have questions on the use of blood glucose meter, all pharmacy customers who want to discuss in detail and vividly from home.
Jennifer Baker, Senior Interviewer & Presenter, viEUws, moderated the debate.
The audience was represented by Members of the European Parliament and policy advisors, as well as assistants from the European Commission, industry and technology stakeholders.
