Theresa Leimpek (born 1989) has just finished her Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Economics at the University of Mannheim, Germany, and the University of Oxford, UK. Her main academic interests centre around the fields of social policy and labour economics as well as political communication. She is about to start her Master’s in Economics at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, envisaging her future professional career at the intersection between academic research and political practice.
Besides her studies, Theresa Leimpek is very active in the field of education and educational justice. In 2012, she volunteered as a teacher in a secondary school in Mitunguu, Kenya. At home, she has been involved with several projects motivating youth from underprivileged educational backgrounds to realise their talents. Right now, she is leading a class at a summer school for children from migrant backgrounds.
