On the 17th of October, the kick-off session of the European Health Parliament (EHP) 2017 took place from 15:00 – 17:00h, at the European Parliament, hosted by MEPs Alojz Peterle (EPP), Tibor Szanyi (S&D), Karin Kadenbach (S&D), Brando Benifei (S&D) and Lieve Wierinck (ALDE). They were joined on stage by Maya Matthews, Deputy Head of Unit, Strategy and Coordination, DG Health and Food Safety (SANTE), Eleni Antoniadou, President of the European Health Parliament Second Edition, Researcher in Regenerative Medicine & Bioastronautics and Camille Bullot, Director of Operations and Engagement, European Patients Forum.
The new edition of the EHP gathers 57 young professionals motivated to contribute to a healthier Europe. Inspired by the motto “Make Health Great Again”, these brilliant minds are working together for six months, until April 2018, in five committees ranging from Digital skills for the medical profession, Prevention & self-care, Anti-microbial resistance to Climate change & healthcare, Migration and health challenges.
The project was initiated by Johnson&Johnson and supported by Google, POLITICO, the College
of Europe, European Patients Forum and EU40.
