Historically natural and close allies, the United States of America and the European Union and its Member States have always operated through close cooperation.
In an effort to build on the past, to think anew and to strengthen the transatlantic alliance, EU40, in cooperation with the European Parliament Liaison Office (EPLO) with the U.S. Congress in Washington DC, wanted to lay the preparatory groundwork for the establishment of a Transatlantic Under 40 (TU-40) Network by organising a delegation to Washington D.C. between the 21st and the 24th of May.
This delegation aims at being the first to connect young Members of the European Parliament, young Members of the national parliaments and young Members of the new U.S. Administration in order to establish the Transatlantic Under 40 (TU-40) Network that will see policy makers from both sides of the Atlantic meet and work together on the Transatlantic relationship.
Francesco Vanderjeugd, Member of the Flemish Parliament, published an article (in Dutch) on his page concerning the delegation’s work in Washington. You can access it at this LINK.
Special thanks to the European Parliament Liaison Office with the U.S. Congress in Washington D.C. and to Bertelsmann Foundation for securing the bus transportation. This delegation would have not been possible without you!
