On 30 March 2022, EU40 in partnership with Vodafone Group, hosted a highly informative lunch and new digital technologies exhibition, in which the EU’s Digital Decade 2030 targets and the status of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) were the main topics of discussion.
Representatives from the European Commission, European Parliament, and national permanent representations gathered alongside senior representatives in technological innovation. The lunch heard contributions from Eva Kaili MEP, Vice President of the European Parliament and EU40 board leader; Vinod Kumar, CEO of Vodafone Business; and Sam Blackie, Partner, Advisory Corporate Finance, Deloitte LLP, amongst others.
Impressive, advanced technology was on display at the exhibition. The main objective of which was to demonstrate how cutting-edge digital solutions could forward European interests across industry, rural areas, public services, and SMEs. Interactive demonstrations helped visitors imagine a greener, digital, and citizen-centric future. In addition, how sustainable digital solutions could help with the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, and issues surrounding European digital strategic autonomy and sovereignty were also raised and discussed at length.
